Truman Lake Fishing Report – August 7, 2025
If today’s results are any indicator, the early August bite is alive and well on Truman Lake. Mark Huey and Ryan hit their 2-man limit of crappie, and the pattern continues to hold steady in the 6 to 13 ft range. D&S Brush Buster spoons tipped with minnows and fished on a 14 ft B’n’M Blue Diamond rod are pulling in quality slabs.
The recent cold front did push fish down closer to the bottom, but they’re starting to rise back up again. It’s all about keeping that bait in front of them—if you can stay in the zone, the bite is there.
Mark noted plenty of roaming catfish on sonar early in the morning, likely following bait balls of shad. While they didn’t drop on any today, it’s a promising sign that the fall feed is coming.
