Truman Lake Fishing Report – Catfish Shallow, Crappie Mid-Depth, and White Bass on the Rocks! (Oct 30, 2025)
Cool temps, rain, and 30-plus mph winds didn’t slow down the bite this week at Truman Lake. Fall fishing is in full swing, and the pattern is shaping up nicely for crappie, catfish, and white bass.
🎣
Catfish Bite
Mark focused on catfish early this week and found them shallow — just 2 to 4 feet of water. Fish are roaming the flats and channels, especially with the strong winds stirring things up. Fresh cut shad has been the ticket. Most boats are sitting in around 3 feet of water, with baits spread from a foot and a half to five feet deep. There’s no exact depth — the fish are moving and feeding across the flats.
🐟
Crappie Update
Crappie are holding 6 to 12 feet deep, halfway back in the creeks. The bite has been solid on DNS Brush Buster spoons tipped with minnows and straight jigs. Fish are close to the bottom but not buried in the mud. The cooler weather has them stacking up, and some nice slabs have been showing up in the livewell

White Bass Report
White bass are active when the wind’s blowing, especially along rocky banks and shallow structure. The bite has been good early and late in the day when shad are up high. If you like fast action, these windy fall days are perfect for chasing whites.
