Truman Lake Weekly Fishing Report – September 25, 2025
With fall knocking on the door, fishing patterns are shifting fast on Truman Lake—and guide Mark Huey has the latest.
Crappie are tight to the bottom in 10–12 feet of water, responding best to DNS Brush Buster spoons tipped with minnows. “We’re literally pulling them out of the mud,” Mark said. The recent fronts and fluctuating pressure have pushed them down, but they’re still reacting when you drop right in front of them.
Catfish are loaded up in stump fields, rubbing moss off trees and feeding. The key is mobility—whether you’re fishing flats or root wads, catch a few and move. “We’re seeing them every day on LiveScope, rubbing trees and stirring up a stink,” Mark explained.
White bass are starting to pop up more regularly. Look for fish 2 feet deep on trees and humps—they’ll chase if you swing through. More are expected to move in as the water cools.
Mark has some scattered October and November availability, and plenty of December dates open (weather depending). Fall is a great time to chase numbers and big fish alike.
