The Truman Lake crappie bite is absolutely phenomenal right now.

Mark Huey has been fishing the Tebow arm all week and reports nonstop action in 6–10 feet of water. Large schools of crappie are roaming high in the water column, making them perfect targets for flipping bobbers set 18–22 inches deep.

Gray paddle tails and Living the Dream bodies have been producing steady action. In one stretch, an angler caught 9 fish in 9 casts after Spot-Locking on an active school.

Bigger crappie are staged on trees and can be dipped out for anglers targeting larger fish.

Catfish are also starting to feed aggressively. Shad are still stacked in channels but are beginning to move onto shallow flats near breaks. If you find the bait, you’ll find the fish. Both eater-sized and larger catfish are being caught.

Mark still has limited availability in March and April, with solid openings mid-to-late May.
